The Junior League of Tampa believes literacy is a foundational element for lifelong success.
In 1999 Children’s Literacy Project was founded with the goal to encourage the love of books. The programs under the Children’s Literacy umbrella have included classroom readings at kindergartens in Hillsborough County, free book fairs for teachers, special visits by children’s authors, and more.
This year 2,000 students have been served through the League’s classroom readings and special literacy events. The League has donated over 5,000 books to students and teachers in Hillsborough County this year.
