The Junior League of Tampa believes literacy is a foundational element for lifelong success.
In 1999, the Children’s Literacy Project was founded with the goal of encouraging the love of books. The programs under the Children’s Literacy umbrella have included classroom readings at kindergartens in Hillsborough County, free book fairs for teachers, special visits by children’s authors, and more.
This year 2,000 students have been served through the League’s classroom readings and special literacy events. The League has donated over 5,000 books to students and teachers in Hillsborough County this year.
