For children eligible for adoption, it can be difficult to meet their forever family. There are few environments where families interested in adoption and children eligible for adoption, can get to know each other.
In 1996 the Kids Connection project, which would later become Kids Connect, was launched. The project creates events which provide a low stress environment for prospective adoptive parents and children to meet and interact.
This year featured events at the Lowry Park Zoo and Splitsville Bowling Alley, with over 100 adults and children in attendance. Over 160 successful matches began with Kids Connect Event.
The Kids Connect Committee also hosted an Adoptive Family Picnic at Glazer Children’s Museum. The event provided a fun afternoon for forever families to gather together and celebrate adoption.
